Wrongful Death

$9.5 Million Settlement

Bryan C. died as a result of blunt force trauma when he was run over by a large, refrigerated truck on I-5 in Philadelphia.

Bryan was with his mother, fiancé, and five-year-old daughter when his car broke down. He pulled over to the shoulder and exited the car to talk to the tow truck driver.

At that same moment, a refrigerated truck veered from the center lane through the right lane and onto the shoulder where Bryan stood.

The truck ran over Bryan and then dragged him under the truck for 75 feet.

His fiancé and mother were there to help him and comfort him as he lay gravely injured on the highway, but he sadly died a short time later at the hospital.

Bryan’s family brought a claim against the driver responsible for his tragic death.

During our research, we subpoenaed dash cam footage, which showed the truck driver was distracted and not alert as he drove on the highway.

After taking depositions of the trucking company executives and the driver’s co-workers, the driver asked to mediate the case.

The case was resolved after three mediation conferences.

A $9.5M settlement was secured for Bryan’s family.

It will leave them financially secure for the rest of their lives but cannot replace the loss they suffered.

If you or someone you know has lost an immediate family member due to another’s negligence on the road, it’s time to take a stand.
