Preparing for a trial is an incredibly stressful and complicated task.
One thing people who are not trial lawyers do not realize is how complicated scheduling can be.
We have experts who fly in from all over the country, and they take days out of their work schedules to testify. We have to line up all the witnesses to present our case in a cohesive fashion, so getting the witness list done correctly is critical.
Unfortunately, some of that seems to fall apart when the judge gets food poisoning on what was supposed to be the first day of trial.
We were walking into the courthouse to start the trial when we heard the news. The judge had gotten food poisoning the night before, and everything was to be pushed back three days.
The judge, fortunately, was incredibly accommodating, and we were able to make some accommodations so that everything worked out.
If you or a loved one has been injured due to someone else’s negligence, it’s time to take a stand.
