We usually have an excellent relationship with defense counsel, and it’s something that’s important to us.  

We were trying a case in Bucks County and we had scheduled the trial months ago.  

Veterans Day fell on one of the trial days, and we knew ahead of time that the Courts would be closed for the holiday.  

Our opponents, however, had not made that connection, and they were scheduling their expert witnesses to appear in the courtroom on the holiday.  

We made sure to tell the other side about the date being off, which they did not realize.  

This went a long way in helping to garner a settlement, because we continued to have a good working relationship with them.
