The question every client asks (and why we can’t answer it)

by | Mar 23, 2026 | One Time in Court Story

One of the first questions clients ask us seems simple: “How much is my case worth?”

It’s a terrific question. You want to know what to expect, what your future might look like, and whether pursuing a claim is worth it.

But here’s the truth: we usually can’t answer that question at the outset.

Not because we don’t want to, but because the full picture isn’t there yet.

When an accident happens, injuries don’t reveal themselves all at once. We’ve had clients undergo two, three, or even four surgeries over the course of litigation. Others face years of rehabilitation before anyone knows the full extent of their recovery.

There are also financial costs that stretch across a lifetime—future medical care, lost earning capacity, ongoing therapy needs. We cannot determine those until the medical picture is complete.

That’s why we don’t rush.

We do not settle cases until we have a complete understanding of the injury and what it means for our client’s future.

Only then can we pursue the full and fair compensation you deserve.

If you or a loved one has been injured due to someone else’s negligence, it’s time to take a stand.
