Even “crazy witnesses” can be prepared

We recently had a medical malpractice case where our client was diagnosed with cancer.

They stated that their daughter, who had significant emotional and psychological issues, would be a “disaster” at deposition.

After several meetings with the client and her daughter, she turned out to be an excellent witness who could advocate for her extremely sick mother.

I guess the lesson here is don’t judge a book by its cover.
